Of course one of the reasons why such a presentation is good, is that you have to practise to get dancing in Sync with your talk.
Next to the obvious visual quality and WOWness of a presentation, the preparation helps to think about the structure of what you are talking about.
Wow! This presentation style raises the game for XPDays Benelux 2012 for sure ;>
I really like the idea of finding alternatives to powerpoints. That presentation at TEDex was really amazing, did you get a chance to look at the dance your phd videos? //gonzolabs.org/dance/
I’ve been trying to figure out how to replace powerpoints with live music playing, representing ideas with songs or a music style. I’ve made a video submission for conferences, we’ll see if it’s any good soon I guess 😉
Hi Marc,
As an Ex-DJ I love your idea of music for a presentation.
The hardest part for me would be the local aspect of music.
When I worked a few month in France as a DJ I quikcly learned that the “international” music I was listening to, was not know in France.
And when last year I lived in France that became even funnier. Music we knew a year before in Belgium, was now released in France.
SO if you only do it about atmosphere, that will work, if you want to have peopel recognize songs, you might want to take older songs.

I was thinking about bringing on of my pianos at conferences actually, and indeed, finding some universal songs. But sometimes music styles talk more to people than songs. If you want to see how it could look like…

I realized I don’t play piano that much anymore so if I could mix those two it would be great 🙂
Marc,
I love your video.
Would you be interested in doing music while I am doing a presentation like the agile & Lean Mindset?

Surely worth talking about it to see how it would fit in, I’d be interested.
Here you can find a link to a video from the presentation, might give you an idea how it is right now…

Dance for Agile… It would work really well, thanks to the drumbeat-like regular iterations (cadence). Wow…
